How do design consultations work?

Free, onsite, walked at dusk so we can see what the property is doing without lighting. We listen first, propose second. Most homeowners have a clearer picture of scope after twenty minutes onsite than after three rounds of email.

What is the timeline from quote to install?

Typical residential projects run three to six weeks from signed proposal to install, depending on scope and material lead times. Christmas installs follow a separate fall schedule that fills earlier in the year.

Are you licensed and insured?

We carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance. CSLB licensure is in process and will be reflected on the site when issued. COI is available on request.

Do you work with my landscape architect?

Yes, regularly. We collaborate with landscape architects, pool designers, and general contractors when they are involved in the project. We will work directly to your specifier's plan if that is the arrangement.

What is the warranty on your installs?

Manufacturer warranty on the fixtures, plus our own labor warranty on the install. Specifics vary by fixture line and project. We will walk through warranty terms in writing as part of the proposal.

How is permanent outdoor lighting different from Christmas lights?

Permanent lighting is a fixed, year-round system mounted into the eaves and rooflines, controlled by an app, used every night. Christmas lighting is a seasonal install of C9 strands that we put up in November and take down in January. Many of our clients run both.

What is aerial moonlighting?

Downlighting installed high in mature trees that throws soft, dappled light through the canopy onto the landscape below. The light reads as moonlight, not as a fixture. It is one of the most beautiful effects in residential outdoor lighting and one of the more technical to install correctly.

Will landscape lighting damage my plants or trees?

When installed correctly, no. We use tree-friendly mounts, low-voltage runs, and fixture spacing designed to support long-term plant health. We will not specify a fixture or mount that is going to cause damage.

Do you provide commercial lighting services?

Yes, all five of our service categories are available commercially. We work with shopping centers, restaurants, hotels, wineries, HOAs, and office parks. COI and W-9 are available on request. See the Commercial page for more.

How early should I book Christmas lighting?

Earlier than most homeowners think. Design walks for the season fill by mid-October most years and the install calendar fills shortly after. New clients who book in late summer have the most flexibility on install date.

Are the Christmas lights mine to keep?

Accepted Answer

No, they belong to us. We supply commercial-grade C9 LED strands custom-cut to your home. Strands are stored in our climate-controlled inventory between seasons. You are paying for design, install, lights, maintenance, and takedown as a service.

What if a strand fails during the holiday season?

Mid-season maintenance is included in every Christmas package. Call us, we are usually back on the property inside a day to repair or replace the affected strand.

Do you do takedown in January?

Yes, takedown is included in every Christmas package. We schedule the removal date when we set the install. Lights, clips, extension cords, and timers all come down clean.

Can you integrate with smart home systems?

Yes, our permanent lighting and many of our structural installs are app-controlled and can integrate with common smart home platforms. We will discuss the specifics of your setup during design.

Do you work in winter or only seasonally?

We work year-round. Permanent, landscape, structural, and moonlighting installs continue through the winter. Christmas runs concurrent in November and December. The crew is the same regardless of season.

How do you price projects?

Project-by-project, based on the design walk. Permanent and landscape projects are scoped by linear footage, fixture count, and integration complexity. Christmas tiers start at the published numbers and adjust to actual property size. Commercial is fully custom.

Can I add to a system later?

Yes. Our designs include capacity for future additions. New uplights, additional structural runs, or adding moonlighting to an existing landscape plan are all common follow-on conversations.

Yes, we accept credit cards, ACH, and check. Payment terms are discussed during proposal. Commercial accounts default to net 30.
